Robotic surgery, a recent addition to the existing laparoscopic surgeries, enhances the effectiveness of the operating surgeon. Robotic surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000. The technique has been rapidly adopted by hospitals in the United States and Europe. Its penetration in India is speedily increasing with many centres now having their own robot.

Dr. Shashikant Mishra and his team are trained Robotic surgeons. In the past, Dr. Mishra has performed complex robotic procedures such as radical cystectomy and prostatectomy with ease. We do realize that the high cost of robotic procedures may render them untenable for some. However, with the greater flexibility and control that they provide, the surgeon is able to perform complex procedures with more precision. Thus, it is our endeavour to bring forward a robotic platform soon to cater to the needs of our patients.
