Swami Dayal International Endourology and Laparoscopy Fellowship

The Swami Dayal International Endourology and Laparoscopy Fellowship is a specialized clinical training program offered by the Department of Urology and Kidney Transplant Unit at Precision Urology Hospital (PUH), Lucknow, U.P., India. Launched in September 2022, this program is designed to provide overseas practicing urologists advanced skills and hands-on experience in endourology and laparoscopy under the guidance of experienced mentors. The fellowship reflects PUH’s commitment to being a premier choice for urological and nephrological clinical care, education, and research.

Program Objectives

The fellowship aims to:

• Enhance clinical skills in advanced endourology and laparoscopy for practicing urologists.
• Contribute to the development of urology in countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and parts of Oceania.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaborative growth in urological practices globally.

Fellowship Structure

This intensive 3-month training program includes:

• Fellowship Sessions: Conducted three times a year with start dates on February 1st, May 1st, and August 1st.
• Individualized Training: The program accepts one candidate per session, ensuring personalized mentorship and learning.
• Clinical Exposure: Fellows engage in practical case studies, surgical assistance, and hands-on learning opportunities.
• Certification: Participants receive a plaque and a certified logbook detailing their cases and procedural experiences.

Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship is open to:

• Qualified Urologists: Applicants must have completed a recognized national urology program in their home country.
• Merit-Based Selection: Enrolment is based on application review and merit, with consideration given to candidates who provide a recommendation from a recognized institution, a qualified urologist, or local government support in their country.

Fellowship Fees and Enrolment Process

• Course Fees: The program fee is USD 675 per month for the 3-month duration.
• Security Deposit: Upon selection, candidates are required to deposit USD 500 as a refundable security, retained until the end of the fellowship. The security deposit will be forfeited if the candidate cancels within three months of the start date of the fellowship program.
• Accommodation and Meals: The hospital assists fellows with arrangements for food and lodging, which are managed by a third party and paid for separately by the candidate (not included in the course fee).
