Uretero-calicostomy (UC) is indicated for failed Pyeloplasty, UPJO with anamolies of renal rotation or ascent, and UPJO with an intra renal pelvis. The advantage of UC is that it provides dependent urinary drainage from the lower calyx into the ureter. Bleeding from incised renal parenchyma and risk of anastomotic stricture are limitations of the procedure. Crucial issues for success of Laparoscopic UC is thin renal parenchyma at lower pole with ability to control bleeding of incised renal parenchyma, tension free UC anastomosis preserving urethral vascular supply and advanced suturing skills.
